Happy New Year, AC Works Connector, ACConnectors, AC Works, Cordtec Power Corp.

With a new year comes reflection, self-reflection is common.  We say don’t be so hard on yourself.  Reflection is a great motivator, but don’t allow it to tear you down.

There is a lot to reflect on during the transition from one year to another.  First, the New Year’s Eve celebrations are one of the most fun times of the year, every year.  Second, your resolutions are in place. Third, the desire for self-improvement is always present in the shift from one year to another.  Did you know more than 40% of Americans make new years' resolutions?  Sadly, only about 8% of us will achieve them this year.  When creating your goals for 2018 make them simple, tangible and conquer them.  (Source: Forbes.com – Dan Diamond)

Now that 2017 has come to an end, we can reflect on the great accomplishments we have had at Cordtec Power Corp. in 2017.

Earlier in the year, we moved into a new location.  The company has been steadily growing all year and the need for more space and a safer location was evident.  Cordtec Power Corporations, corporate offices, and warehouse have moved into an industrial park in Franklin, Wisconsin.  Franklin was named a “Top 10 Overall Micro American City of the Future” by Foreign Direct Investment Magazine in April/May 2015.

The growing business required the need for a fresh marketing plan.  In September, we hired a new Marketing Manager, Stephanie Junek, to oversee our marketing department. She has also branded and launched our blog, that you read today. Moving to a larger location and giving away some responsibilities to our marketing department has allowed us to add to our overall product variety.

Some of the new products we have introduced in 2017 are Generator, Welder, and Electric Vehicle (EV) solutions.  The busy 2017 hurricane season began on August 24th with hurricane Harvey in the Gulf of Mexico, making his way toward the Texas coastline. In September, Hurricane Irma came very close to crossing over Puerto Rico, devastated some of the Caribbean; Naples, Turks & Caicos, Bahamas, Northern Cuba, the Florida Keys and made landfall in Florida.

Again, in September, Hurricane Maria was breaking records all over the Atlantic and Caribbean. She became the tenth-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record.  Currently, she is the strongest tropical cyclone worldwide, the thirteenth named storm, eighth consecutive hurricane, the fourth major hurricane, a second Category 5 hurricane and the most-deadly storm of the 2017 hurricane season.

Maria caused catastrophic damage and fatalities across the north-eastern Caribbean, most of which was hit by Irma just two weeks prior.  Dominica suffered island wide communication blackouts and Puerto Rico’s previously damaged electrical grid was devastated.

We normally have a very quick turn around time for shipping out orders, but it was our goal to help bring power back to those who lost it.  We were turning out orders in 24 hours or less to people who ordered from those affected areas, during this devastating hurricane season.

Emergency power is our top priority for you as our customers.  We never want to leave anyone waiting for a product that can help them restore heat, lights, and electricity to any other necessary items in their homes.

One of our company goals is to be environmentally friendly.  This prompted us to bring in Electrical Vehicle (EV) adapters for Tesla’s electric vehicle market.

DID YOU KNOW: Announced in July, In Britain, the sales of new Diesel and gas-powered vehicles will be banned by the year 2040.

That brings us to 2018, and what our customers can look forward to this year. We will be adding to our product line.  Currently, we cover about 80% of all the possible solutions needed for generator power and 60-70% of all the available power solutions for Welders.

As you read above, we have covered EV solutions for Tesla vehicles.  This year, we want to broaden that product line and add more vehicle solutions from other manufacturers to our available Electric Vehicle solutions.  We will also put more focus on the medical and hospital grade cables, as they are added to our inventory throughout 2018.

Stephanie has been working hard to produce a marketing plan for the year which includes website changes, more brand awareness, and videos. Some blog topics you can look forward to will touch on our wiring devices, grounding adapters, and more about electric vehicle benefits.

We thank you for being a valued AC Connectors customer, hope you enjoy the AC WORKS™ Connector blog and your new year!
