For a while now, customers have been reaching out to us trying to adapt their 3-prong dryer outlet for regular household use. Although this was a tricky solution to develop, we can now say that we have an adapter just for you: 1030Y520-036.

What was the obstacle in its development? Well, as we have said many times, the NEMA 10-30 3-prong dryer outlet only operates at 250 Volts. This is because it has 2 hot wires and a neutral, with no ground present. The only way a 250-volt outlet can operate at 125 volts is if there are 4-wires present: 2 hots 1 neutral, and 1 ground. So, we had to add a green grounding wire to this adapter to allow it to function at 125 volts. That being said, the green grounding wire MUST be used in order for this adapter to function properly. It will not work if it is neglected and left unplugged. If you do this, 250 volts will still come through, which is bad for your regular household appliances.

This adapter is extremely handy, especially when regular household outlets aren’t available. But, extra attention must be paid to its setup. We also include two outlet caps for the household connector ends when they are not in use. If you have any additional questions on how to use this adapter, please leave us a comment down below. You can also reach us via text, email, or phone call. Please give us a like and subscribe to see more content like this. Thank you for watching.
