AC WORKS® Connector

Sometimes you need to power multiple items and you don't have any power at all.  There may be an outage, you may be camping, or on a job site.  Whatever your reason for using a generator to power your items, we have a PDU adapter to help you get the most of your power in one space.

PDUs can be used with generators for a couple of different jobs. As we have already mentioned, they can be used to power tools outside at a construction site. Small PDU adapters can be used on mobile generators to power smaller tools in the yard, for smaller work sites, or for flood restoration in areas where the power is out. Another time PDU adapters can be used with generators is during a power outage.

The same rule applies to outlets that have two hot wires. These outlets would be NEMA L14-30, NEMA L14-20, and NEMA 14-50. But what if you have an outlet that only has one hot wire? The outlets that have one hot wire that we have PDU adapters for are NEMA L5-30 and NEMA TT-30. These adapters also have another difference: the female connector end includes three regular household outlets. This means the power distribution end only has 3,750 watts max to work with. If you have two devices that need to use exactly 15 Amps, you can plug both of them in. But, if you have devices that don’t need all 15 Amps, which happens a lot, then you can plug up to 3 devices in.

These rules apply to our V-DUO adapter collection. We have some that have two hot wires, while others only have one.  If you have any further questions about power connection solutions, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask us through a phone call, text, or email.

It’s important before you choose a generator that you outline clearly what you want to use it for. Due to the sheer size of the market and the number of uses that one could have for a generator, it would be unfair to say that there’s truly one “best generator”. Check https://www.bestgenerators.org/ for a list of generators for home.
