We have quite the interesting product L1430CBF520. What’s cool about it is that it has two breakers. Many people prefer this extra layer of safety, or midpoint barrier between the power source and the plug, so that it doesn't trip the breaker on a generator or a home breaker box. These simple breakers change the how you calculate the max wattage.

To get down to the bottom of the max total watts lets take a closer look at this adapter. Each side has two outlets and both sides share a 24 amp breakers.

We understand two things. The NEMA 5-20 are 125v connections and the max amperage would be 24amps because of the breakers.

Normally to calculate max wattage we would want to multiply 20amps x 125volts x 4 outlets.  This would be 10,000 watts. But we can't go by this rule because of the breakers.

First thing we must remind ourselves is that two outlets are sharing a breaker, so we have to change the formula. We also have to increase the amperage to reflect the breakers.

24 amps x 125volts x 2 breakers.

This results in 6000 total max watts with 3000 max on each side.

We hope this helps you understand how breakers can affect the max wattage capability of adapters. We’ve attached this generator adapter in the description below. Shop ACWORKS for all of your power and adapter needs.
